Deep Seal

In a mountain settlement of seven Hearths, the short spring is ending and the long cold is on its way. Then four workers vanish along an old service line beneath the mountain, and something moves in the dark behind them.

Asera — route leader, archer, and partner of the grey wolf Korr — must take a small crew below the known map, where every arrow, lamp and hour is counted. What they find raises a question no council has ever had to answer: whether the way into the mountain can be closed for good, and what the Hearths can afford to spend to close it.

A long, closely built fantasy of survival, evidence and shared cost, in eight parts.
